We are getting a roof installed at home. My wife works from home. She heard the guy fall and hit the the steps right outside her office window. She said he was nonrespnsive for a while. She called 911, before the ambulance arrived he came too. The rest of the crew was trying to get him up. The head if the crew had her call and cancel the the ambulance. She said he set on the porch the rest of the day. He was very dizzy with a headache. He should have went to the hospital IMO. Before you ask it was an all Caucasian crew, which is surprising. I'm thinking they didn't want osha involved. A few years ago osha has them all wearing harnesses around here.

I fell off a roof one time. I think that part of my problem today.

That sucked. It was a two story house, and the foundation was still dug out so I actually fell 3 stories. I'm lucky to be alive.

Your wife never should have cancelled the ambulance. Guess who is going to get sued if the guy is looking for an easy buck from your homeowners. Probably wouldn't win in court but the insurance company will settle instead of litigate it.

I would probably have them sign something saying yall requested he go to
the hospital but he refused and you are not responsible. He probably couldnt pass a drug test. Pretty sure thats the first thing theyd do at the hospital for an on the job accident

Thought a painter fell off our roof earlier this year. When I checked the home camera bout had a heart attack. Luckily it was just a rag he threw down.

And this is why folks pay more for bonded, insured crews and not fly by night cheap contractors.

My wife called 911, they said they did not want to seek medical attention. It was all recorded.

This is a very reputable company.

Having worked in the construction field for over 20 years, my first thought was he was illegal. When you said they were Caucasian, my second thought was he/they had warrants. I hate to be judgmental but it’s experience talking.

I work for myself. If something like that happened and i was asked to sign something, i wouldnt have a problem with it. When i got hurt, the homeowner called me several times the next week. I wasnt really able to talk on the phone. I figured she was worried to death i was gona sue her. As soon as i was able i called her and told her not to worry about that at all, it was just an accident, nobodys fault and im not the sueing type. I could tell that made her feel alot better. Were living in a messed up world. That guy cound get fired next week and come after yall just because hes out of work.

I'll let my insurance company handle anything that comes up. The check for the roof is from Alfa made out to the contractor and me. I was thinking about letting Alfa know.

I think that would be a good idea (to let Alfa know about the accident). In this crazy world, you never know what someone may try to pull. I completely agree with jwalker - before they left, I would have them sign some kind of waiver for the fall.
