For a call like that, we had to continue the response regardless of the cancellation. Proceed to investigate. We might have turned off the lights and sirens, but we would have proceeded to the scene and at least talked to the caller.

If the ambulance got there and he refused to go they would get him to sign a refusal form. If he was unwilling to sign it then they would note this. I was under the impression that the wife cancelled the ambulance before they arrived.

That’s going to be an interesting Workers Compensation claim. Contractors always say their subcontractors have their own WC but not always the case. Ultimately it is the contractor who needs to make sure his subs have valid COI. Always check the COI yourself and never trust a contractor. Supervisor called off rescue. Wow.

And this is why you better make sure you hire a licensed contractor to do the job. Always, always, always hire someone licensed by the Alabama Homebuilders association of ours residential work. Alabama general contractors board if it's commercial work.

Prob a contractor not carrying workmans comp and paying convicted non background checked felons $12 an hr cash under the table to stay under the limit to not require workmans comp.

The state don’t look to kindly on people over the workmans comp limit and not carry it. The state and Uncle Sam don’t like not getting their cut for taxes. Likely why they didn’t wanna send him to the dr. A bunch of sketchy contractors out there.

if the contractor is licensed and bonded he has to have insurance but that doesn't really matter the guy can still sue the home owner

They were building a house next door to me and I was home one Friday and the framers got into a was with each other shooting with nail guns until the guy on the ground got hit
They were a sub of the GC building the house well about 2 months after that the guy on the ground that got hit sued the GC (I don't know if he ever got anything )
