I don't recall how many, but it was a heck of a lot more than I can get now, and they were cheap.

My late Daddy shot Western Super-X high brass 20 gauge shells with 7.5 shot out of a 1952 Remington Wingmaster. He would buy a case from Phillips hardware in Columbus, GA. in the early 60's for $45.00 tax included.

Yup. And we called a 10 box half-case a flat because it was only one box of shells high and the full case of 20 boxes was double stacked.

I’ve got some federal 16ga, 2-3/4” lead 7.5s, with ducks and geese on the plastic shell. They pack a wallop out of a SxS.

I've got two of those cases sitting in my garage, that I bought here from Texas 9 years ago. I hang onto them in the hope that one day find a place to hunt dove.

I didn't know they quit selling cases. When did that happen? I've got a case of 20's somewhere I bought about 14 years ago.

DOVES were so plentiful back then. 20 shooters on a GOOD Field the First of the Season......I've seen th' total tally at around 900 Birds many times. My BEST at age 20 was 114 and my Buddy beside me had 97. He was shooting an 1100 Remington and Me a Browning A5......1978.

Paper bulls were a little before my time (59-yrs old). I'm 58 and I remember shooting a blue million paper hull Winchester XX low brass. Some of those were reloads though.

Can remember buying a paper sack 8 oz of WW 760 powder for $3.50 a sack. And 2 boxes of Remington .22 shorts for 29 c each. 32.5 grains under a 150 grain Speer flat point fired out of my 1977 vintage Win 94 started my journey into handloading.
Skinny is my EX.Alcohol was involved.
