There is NO treated pine lumber that will last in a horizontal application unless it is treated with a sealer, stain or paint after giving it about a year to dry out good from the treatment chemical. Vertical applications will last longer without this.....but will last even longer if it is applied. YOUR Federal Gov't has changed the acceptable mix for the treatment potion.....lumber just won't last as long as it did 30,40,50 years ago. You just have to find someone that sells cca treated lumber. It's still out there. Beg to Differ: Manufacturers voluntarily stopped using CCA as a treatment in December of 2003.

At least one outfit in Mississippi was still using it in 2017, as they asked if there would be a chemical reaction between it, and some bushings we make for kilns if the two came into contact.

I can find it at marine lumber yards for seawalls, dock pilings etc. I think the EPA banned residential use of CCA treated lumber for residential use back in 2004 or maybe it was a voluntary ban on using for residential applications. Either way, the EPA friendly treatments suck!

Rane donated to Kay Ivey.... par for the course. She turned around and gave him a Grant for some mill or some business infrastructure project within months of her taking office.
That's how these people rob the State of Alabama and the taxpayers. Rane didn't need that money it was just a payback. Obviously there is more waste on him for this Airport. No telling what else.
Keep voting for Democrats with an (R) by their name.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

I’m from south end of the county so my perspective may be a little off. I’ve heard the negatives pertaining to control and power. I’ve also seen and heard of the positive impact he’s had on Abbeville and surrounding area. I know a lot of people that work for him and they all speak highly of him as an employer ex. GSW, Abbeville Fiber, Greenbush. Whatever your opinion you have to admit he’s responsible for alot of jobs and a major economic driver for this area. I remember as a teenager eating lunch in Graball at Maggie Carters. He was always there sitting with common folk and friendly. He would always smile and ask how we were doing. No doubt that he’s a nice guy and has done a lot for the area. I use to see him a good bit when we had a beach house in South Walton and he would always take time to talk.

heard a rumor he wants to own all of Henry county one day , hell he owns half the buildings in Abbeville already. . That Corp of Engineers and power company property along the river may be difficult to purchase. But then again he does have the means to do it.

BW- you are incorrect. CCA is still used today but can’t be legally used for occupied dwellings. I believe DOT even specs CCA treatment.

Needs to use some of that money to buy Auburn a quarterback......just sayin He's working on it. Maybe if he blinged up the Yella Wood it would attract better talent. Wasn't he banned from Auburn Athletics for some shenanigans years ago?
