Tchunter told me once that his neighbor's deck touches his back door. Not sure what all that was about.

If you trim the bush around your deck, it'll make it look bigger.

I was looking at my deck just last night. There are some watermelon seeds on it that I need to pressure wash off.
Some of the wood is splintering, but I think I will cover it with deck restore instead of replacing them.
I like my deck, but it gets abused by the afternoon sun.
Of all things, yesterday the Fed Ex man left two boxes on my deck. Good luck with your deck, let us know how it turns up, I mean out.

If you guys are re building your decks. Something to look into is TREX decking. Pricey but has a 50ur warranty and has a great wood look

Splitbrows, seemed like you and your wife had a good time on his deck.

Olympic is Lowes brand I beilieve....She was just pushing the store brand. I'm a contractor and will screw with the big box stores employees. You would not believe how little these people know about construction. Most are just there for the insurance. Thompsons is the way to go.

Treating your deck is a "hands on" job.

Thompsons is far better than Olympic. That being said NO Sealer will last more than a year. They have no pigment and have to be re applied each year. Use a lower power pressure washer to take the old sealer off each year. This will save the wood on the deck. I own my painting buisness and do alot of work on Smith lake. I have to explain this to peeps all the time.
