Very effective. I run ttsx 80’s with Hogdon SP and get them up to 3290 fps with a TKO of 9.1. Boom flop if you can shoot well
I don't want to pass quietly into the night. I want to slide in sideways kickin and screamin Life really is awesome ... Soak it up while you can ...

Not my favorite. I probably shoot almost a hundred animals per year with 243 factory loads and the Hornady Interlock and the Fed Fusion has been the most consistent for me especially on animals larger than 300lb.
For the higher speed load for deer critters the SuperPerformance SST is good.

They are predictable and effective. Every deer I’ve killed had an exit which is what I wanted when I swapped over to that round several years ago.

This is what my daughter will be shooting this year, so y’all have had better luck with shoulder shot vs behind the shoulder I’ve always told her to aim for the crease just behind the shoulder

enter through or exit out one shoulder, no need to stop walking to follow the blood. 50/50 on broadside “lung” shots on a good blood trail, not a fan of standing in one spot looking for a speck which happened abt 50% of the time when it didn’t hit a rib. quartering to or away is my personal preference. little man and myself have killed 15 or so with the 62gr tsx out of his bolt action 5.56. it’s a wicked little bullet, the 80 gr will work great.

You know.... I may hunt all season and only get 1 opportunity to kill a nice deer. I'm not hunting in a fence. All the factors that are involved.... from stand placement, to drinking liquid smoke as a fart cover scent.... all the time involved. All the money spent. All the weekends working.
When the moment of truth arrives.... You are going to put all that on a Magic Bullet? Because apparently it's the only thing you can shoot through your Varmint rifle that will give you a passthrough on a deer?
Anyone ever asked themselves.... What in the conbreadhell am I doing?
Sounds completely stupid to me. You don't have to shoot a 300 win mag just shoot a 7-08 or something reasonable. You say, well... I don't need no 7-08.... Apparently YOU DO. You are shooting Magic Bullets just so you can shoot through both sides of a deer. And further stating the obvious.... you wouldn't need the Magic if you had confidence in just some regular ole bullets. You don't. Why? how many have you shot and lost before you found the "Magic"?
Craziest shait ever.

When shooting lighter bullet like this I prefer neck shots though I know several guys who shoulder shoot them every time
When I need expert advice I tend to talk to myself The older I get the better I used to be

I killed a little ole buck last year with my sons .243 using Norma white tail ammo 100 gr. I believe it was. It tore him up so bad I decided to drop down to a .223 instead. That .243 is just too violent for my liking.I like to eat deer and there just wasn’t enough meat left to suit me.

Have you ever had a bullet not exit on a perfect placement? That is why I swapped to my beloved magic bullets. SST came apart on my son’s first buck. Only made it 50-60 yards, but nary a blood trail to follow. When we cleaned him, found that the jacket and core had separated. Right then, I decided I wanted a bullet that could not come apart I’m not saying that other bullets don’t kill deer by any means, just know what I like, how well they shoot, and what I can expect when I pull the trigger

You get a ttsx bullet speeding and it’s deadly. I’ve seen them 80’s outta a 243 absolutely wreck a deer. Like sticking a hand grenade inside em and zipping em back up. I shoot 120’s in 260’s haven’t had one make it over 40 yards yet.
