40 degrees misting rain and a NW wind at 15. Man I need one to put his nose down and move today what a pretty KS morning to hunt. Somebody I know is letting big does walk already today. I don’t want to call out any former Wardens for not shooting on their last day tho.:)

Nice 10pt almost made my redneck come out. He was narrow or I woulda gave him an arrow. Stuck his nose to my decoys butt! Trixie had him right like I needed her to. Best deer I ever let walk but there is 180” deer here can’t shoot a 130”

I'm gonna feel like i read a book that had no ending if yall don't post some pics of a bigun May not happen this trip. I’ve got 4 more hours in a tree, off to bed, and early driving to make it back for thanksgiving. The best hunts I’ve had have been the last two mornings. Seeing a lot of 2 year old bucks. Nothing older, but I know they’re here.

I’ve read that and I have to agree something is not normal. I know a bunch of folks who’ve been out here, several still are, and they’re not seeing the activity they’re used to. I haven’t seen a mature buck from a stand in 8 days of hunting. I didn’t really start seeing young bucks until I got off public and started hunting private, with the exception of one afternoon. I have seen one mature buck 140-150 from the vehicle while looking at the property I’m hunting with the farmer. Not really seeing much driving either. I’m driving 40 miles from where I’m staying to where I’m hunting every morning/evening. I’m averaging 1-2 deer seen from the truck in 80 miles round trip daily.

Hmmm.....I just might by 76 yr old hunting buddy up for a fox squirrel hunt in Kansas. Where are you located? Public land?
Remember: It aint what you shoot...it's how you shoot it.

My buddy who’s been in Kentucky since gun season started said he’s not seeing any big bucks while driving around either.
Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

Joker is huge. 😮 Guess he’s having trouble posting the pic.
