I have a ‘03 highlander that hasn’t skipped a beat. Has 165k miles on it and it still drives really well.

This

I'm pretty sure this is another government regulation intrusion.

Of course , a Toyota engineer wouldn't come up with something that stupid.

Oh yeah, I've wore the coating off the button.

Our Telluride has been flawless, and it drives and rides like a dream. The new larger Highlander might compare but the original did not. It was cramped feeling. We drove them all. Honda pilot was a close 2nd.

I can only comment on the Highlander. Mom and Mom in law have one. They are great. The ride is very smooth. Many features available.

Highlander would be my choice. My mom has a 2019 Santa Fe and at 53k miles it was using a quart of oil every 1000 miles. She traded it on a 21 Highlander recently and loves it. My sister has a 16 Highlander, Mom has a 21 Highlander, Aunt has a 23 Highlander and wife has a 16 4runner. All of them love the Toyota's and so far nothing more than oil changes, tires and brakes on my wifes 16 4runner

We bought the 2023 Highlander in December. Has the 4 cylinder turbo. One bit of advice. Don’t sign the papers until you have 2 key fobs in your hands.
I bought this one on 2 of December and was told Toyota only were giving one key fob with each vehicle and they would send the other in a few months when the chip shortage was over. I called Bill Penny Toyota in August and asked where my key fob was and they said they had nothing to do with it to. Call Toyota corporate and asked them. I called and asked the agent to connect me with a higher up. Got him on phone and he said my turn had come up that day and they were sending out the letter as we spoke. Still hadn’t got letter yet and I met in person with manager of our Huntsville store and he said he gets to deal with this several times a day and he said was not going to get involved even though I had bought 2 vehicles from them in less than a year. In other words go screw my self. I am still waiting for key fob!
