Chit in a freaking zoo is not the same as animals being indigenous to an area. Sad that I even have to point this out. Could one animal escape from a zoo or sanctuary? Sure, but that would be a double rare occurrence. Black leopards and jaguars are rare to start with and such a rare animal escaping from a sanctuary or zoo would be much rarer still. Not to mention such an animal raised in a zoo or sanctuary if not rapidly recovered would starve to death in a week. There is no way in flaming hell that such a bizarre rare occurrence is the genesis of all the people claiming to see black panthers from every corner of this state and it's ridiculous to keep pushing this as a viable explanation for it.
It’s all word games I guess You say it’s not possible and I say it is It’s not really cat sanctuaries but folks that have them unknown by others. Like you mentioned escapees would probably starve which may lead to being seen briefly and then disappearing Like the black panther wording is actually credible. I always thought it was a different lineage of big cats but according to google it’s not I posted links to credible sightings in TN and that’s not that far. A hunter killed a Florida panther in GA close to the Alabama line. I’ve also stated I think in this thread that the majority of sighting are more than likely misidentifications but that doesn’t disprove all sightings. That has always been my point.

You said they dont exist. Thats what you said. They don't. A black leopard is still a leopard. A black jaguar is still a jaguar. Neither of them is a panther. And neither those animals are running around in the woods of Alabama.

Well since words fly over your head lets try using pictures like they do in kindergarten. This is a yellow lab. Now I know this next one will be confusing to you but don't worry I'll explain it to you under the photo. No that isn't a black panther or even a different species of dog. That's just a black lab. You see like many animals they come in different colors. BUT, and this is the important part, just being a different color doesn't make them a different species, especially species that don't actually exist. Hope this helps. Maybe next I can show pictures explaining that a red Ford F-150 and black Ford F-150 are still the same type of truck if you like. Always here to help you if I can.

Good grief. For the tenth time. Some leopards and jaguars can be born black. THERE ARE NO BLACK PANTHERS. Never have been. And we do not have leopards and jaguars in Alabama. How many times did your first grade teacher have to go over 2+2=4 with you before it stuck, LOL! Speaking of teachers… Did they not go over see/saw/seen, cause many are killing the king's English… Additionally, what about painters?

Hey Fur, that thing you call a "pine goat" is actually a deer. Its an entirely different species. The "ditch pickle" is not an actual fermented cucumber, its actually a bass, thats a fish generally found in a river or a lake, maybe a pond but seldom in a ditch. Those big bucks all yall keep referring to as "monsters" or "toads", you got it, theyre actually just male deer. And the women yall refer to as "smokeshows", they dont actually smoke at all, theyre just pretty females. I just thought i would join in on Todds english lesson, and Todd its actually American, if you go to England, it sounds a bt different.

The difference is that NONE of the people who have come on Aldeer claiming to have seen a black panther over the years were using the word as a slang term for jaguars or leopards. Nope, they have been staunch believers that black panthers are their own separate species and that they are out there living and breeding in the woods of Alabama.

More likely they saw a big black cat and they call it a black panther because thats what theyve heard said all their lives. Likely they have no idea about what species they actually saw, they have no idea what species a "black panther" actually is. Likely they dont even care about all that, they were just amazed that they just witnessed something that special, regardless of whether it was a cougar, leopard or jaguar. Matrer of fact, you seem to be the only one hung up with species identification. I the only person on this site who has said i saw a big black cat, i think. I have no idea what species it was and nobody on this planet can prove it either way. All i know is it was big, it was black and it was a cat. Call it what you want to. I wont ever forget it, people will always act like im a lunatic for talking about it and it dont pay me a dime to go through this.
