My father-in-law had a 94 F150, and it was a great truck. I got it in ‘04 after he passed, and I drove it for 3-4 years before selling. It was still a solid truck when I sold it, but it sucked down gas.

Dude....Dont do that to that truck.... not the white spoke wheels... I would start with the trucks attitude... and how do you do that?.... you say....By changing the altitude.... Then put you some big fuel wheels and some Nitto's on it...Trick it up with a pioneer and a sub or 2.....and roll on in retirement in style.... .... Nice truck Irish!!! ....

That 300 6, injected, is a solid candidate for the best motor ever built. Develops most of its torque on the low end, so there's no reason to ever have to over rev it. Wish I still had one.

Great find! I love those OBS Fords. My first truck was a '78 F-150 4x4, then I upgraded to a '97 F-250HD 4x4 with the 7.3L. I really regret selling that truck.

I like that body style too. Definitely one of my favorites. Plus it's got the fuel injection, which I like and seeing that it's the 300ci inline six, I probably won't have to worry about rebuilding the engine in my lifetime.

I just ordered a replacement, custom fit (hopefully) OEM style seat cover for it yesterday and a 2 gun rack for the back window this morning.

Going to get the tag and title for it tomorrow as well as running it by my paint and body guy up the road and talk to him about buffing out the single stage paint and fixing the dent in the lower rear quarter panel. Then I think I'm going to order a 2.5" lift for it and it's going down to my mechanic to get that installed and to get all the mechanical stuff checked out... Brakes, suspension, etc...

Then tires and wheels and a good detailing, and maybe throw in an new bluetooth reciever and some new speakers, and then she should be ready to be a good backwoods/backroad cruiser and a good daily driver in retirement.

I'm going to keep my 2013 Rubicon, but probably sell my 2018 Ram 1500. I just don't have room to park everything now. Probably take the money from the Ram sale plus a little money and buy a decently used C class for our retirement travelling.

Very nice, great find! I drive a Silverado now but I had an 89' and a 92. Man that 92 F150 was a thing of beauty and a beast! Lifted Special edition truck F150 Nite edition. Mine had 36x12.50's Lift kit, tear drop rims with a black checker plated tool box and all chrome blacked out. I can still see and hear her today.

I went to see my paint and body guy up the street on Monday after I got insurance, tag and title for it.

I was hoping to just fix the dent in the lower driver's side quarter panel, buff out the paint and leave all the original patina on the truck and then try to match that spot as best as possible and fade the single stage paint in, but he was a no go on that, and for good reason. So I clutched my wallet tightly and asked him about just fixing all the bodywork and painting the whole truck... Which I really didn't want to do, since I like it being an old truck and I live on a dirt road. I don't want a show truck.

Well, he told me he would make it really nice and do all the paint and body work for $1500 plus the cost of the paint. Now before everyone runs over there to get their truck painted, that was my price, because he knows me and I send a lot of work his way through friends. I was surprised that automotive paint costs so much. Just the original color paint was $685. For someone who doesn't paint cars all day, that seems crazy expensive for paint.

Still... for a total of $2185 that's still not a bad deal to paint the whole truck. And before anyone jumps in says you can't get a good paint job for that, he painted my 1997 Jeep TJ and did a Jamb up job on it. I still wish I had that Jeep back. My buddy is still driving it every day and it still looks good.

I asked him about spraying in bed liner and he said he doesn't spray bed liner, but he has rolled it in and it has turned out well in the past. He said he would prep the bed and roll in the bed liner for another $200 if I would go buy the gallon of bed liner. That doesn't sound so bad either.

The problem now is that I'm going to probably need to paint the grill and the side mirrors and get new trim pieces for the bottom of the roll up windows, because once the new paint is all shiny on the truck all those pieces are going to look faded and chitty. Then I need to install a lift kit and some bigger tires and wheels, so now my bargain back road truck ain't going to be so cheap anymore. But I think it will be a truck I can be proud of driving to Lowes in Fort Payne to pick up some lumber.

If I'm going to do all that, then we are just going to sell the 2018 Ram 1500 and use that money to go toward a C class camper for our retirement trips.
