Talked with a guy who invests in a lot of the apartments around Huntsville, said occupancy rate was over 90% and the need was outweighing the demand right now.
Use to be able to make it to my grandparents house out of wall triana rd in Madison from New Hope area in 30 minutes. Takes over an hour now and that’s with half decent traffic. I remember when they first started building out there, my grandpaw sold his house and bought a farm in Tennessee. He hated it!

Apartments = section 8. Or whatever government housing subsidies are called now. I doubt many of these are #8 anytime soon.

There is a specific time limit on when apartments go from being brand new to being eligible for Sec 8. I do not know what that number is but most owners wish it was 30 years longer than it is now.

Main reason I quit working at Larry's was the traffic. I was rear ended once and nearly had a bad wreck a couple of weeks later. Not worth it. If I go to Huntsville twice a month now its unusual. My renter is a patrolman for Huntsville Police Dept. Told me that if I go to Hsv not to go on the Parkway. It was designed for 1985 traffic levels. The way it dips and rolls you can be going 65 all fine then top a rise and traffic be at a complete standstill. He works 3-5 wrecks himself a day. The Parkway isn't that bad, but 565 through Huntsville is an absolute schit show at from 6:00 to 8:00 and 3:30 to 6:00...I mean SCHIT SHOW

Huntsville is going to be Alabama's Houston.
Unfettered suburban sprawl with no heart and soul.
Yes I live in the woods and I love it, but I have been to some pretty cool cities with neat vibrant city centers.
That ain't going to be Huntsville. Will it turn into liberal land and be taken over completely by demtards like Houston has? I'm hearing it is already heading that way.

And next to threaten each other with our big brothers? But its my own damn fault. I ought to know better than to say anything. Will from now on.

Driving to Galaxy of Lights last night with the family, people on the parkway are either FLYING or going 20mph under. Causes all sorts of problems.

Wife and I were at Huntsville Hospital yesterday. We were taking to a Doctor and the subject of them being very busy came up. He said they're talking about adding 4 more floors on top of what's there now. I think he said 140 patient rooms. That adds more employees , more patients , more visitors. Where they gonna park? That place is a huge cluster now , wait till they start the construction! Good chance they add an off site parking lot/parking deck and run some shuttles. That’s my assumption I could be completely wrong Or go ^^^^^^ with the one they have . Depending on how their parking decks are designed, a lot of them are built so that its relatively easy to add extra decks as needed. That big one at UAB that is one of the tallest buildings around the UAB complex comes to mind. One problem Huntsville has in terms of growth is that they are limited on how high they can go. There’s an old ordinance that keeps them from being able to go “up”. Something about something to do with blocking the skyline from Monte Sano Mtn. You can’t go taller in downtown, and well, theres not much ground space around it. Something’s gotta give.
The fool tells me his reasons; the wise man persuades me with my own.

If any of those apartments house families, I don’t know where the hell the kids would fit into already crowded schools. Specifically all the housing going up in Hampton Cove/owens Cross Roads area. There are 6 parking garages at Huntsville Hospital. At least 4 of them that I can think of can go upwards Huntsville hospital employees have had parking problems for years. I know 5yrs ago all the employees were made to park way down the street and ride a shuttle bus to work. That was before the town blew up. That was a big reason why they can't keep employees.

I do not believe anyone is still parking offsite. It was never everyone, but it was newer hires during all the construction of the new ortho spine tower. I would not like parking offsite either, but the biggest reason any hospital is short staffed is because of Covid leading to travel jobs paying 2-3 times as much as hospital employees

Sounds like Huntsville is a carbon copy of Colorado Springs. We've been growing so fast it is hard to believe. I've heard Huntsville is similar as I want to move home. That's a bit of a let down as I want to get back to what I know. We think the climate of California along with the weed is the reason for influx of Colorado. Not sure why the same is said for Bama. Maybe they like the belching Governor or something.
Been here long enough to go from "bring 'da pain" to " bring 'da pain meds.
