Why doesn't Dewalt or some other company make a small handheld winch for hunting? Would need ~50ft of strap. Hook to the deer. Walk away 50 ft, and pull the deer to you. Repeat.

Should look like this: 2 handles to hold and a thumb control for activating.

If you're holding the winch you're just transferring the force to your body.

And such a winch would eat batteries FAST because of the torque required.

Just take a small 1500lb 12volt winch and make some leads for it to hook it the battery. Make a bracket and use it as needed.

I have one of these that I got much cheaper than this. Handy, and you already have the drill. 5/16 socket and extension.

They make a winch that runs of a drill. What do they call those that you just wrap a couple wraps of rope around and it pulls how ever long your rope is? I'd like to have one of those that runs off a 1/2 impact.

What if it were to be run around a tree first and then activated? Would the force be transferred to the tree instead of the body?

I just got the drill power winch that TD posted. I am going to use mine to pull deer up hills.

Battery and drill powered winches are all over Amazon. The 2 cycle gas winches are also available

This. Harbor Freight/Vevor 12 winch. Ebay/Esty sell 3d printed battery cradles with lugs on them for all the major brands. Buddy uses a 18v milwalkee battery on his make shift gantry crane.
