The reason for the question is I'm trying to find a climber that folds flat for transport. I've owned, and used, the old Ol'man stands of over a decade ago. I've also used API's, Summits, and Treewalkers. I currently have a Summit Goliath and a 180 Max. The Summits are comfortable stands, but don't fold flat. If there are other brands that do fold up, and someone would recommend, I'd like to know about them. The flatest stands you will find today will be the lone wolfs..i did not mean to de rail your thread..i am sorry

Ol Man's are the most dangerous stands that have ever been made.
Ever? Ever? Ha, this stand says hold my beer. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/fQoWaOUh.jpg) Hunting out of a old Baker tree stand was like roller skating on ice while holding a bottle of nitroglycerin in each hand.

I cut my old man stand into pieces and threw it in the scrap metal dumpster at work. In my opinion it's one of the most dangerous stands made. I wish youda called me, ida taght that thang new tricks After that sumbeach slipped on me the second time , wasn't no way I was chancing mine or another mans life and well being on it.

I have one of the original Ol Man that I bought in the mid 90's and I have never felt unsafe in it. Never slipped significantly on a tree and never felt like I was going to fall out of it and I have taken many naps in it. Just recently retired it. If I could get the cable replaced I would still use it.

Ol’man climbers are all I’ve ever owned. I have a Vision and two Grand Vision stands and the newest might be from 2001. In that time I’ve had one of the safety pins break and that was a replacement pin because I somehow lost the original yo a snag at some point. I do perform a stress test on them at the start of each season. I found what I think was a Warren Sweat climber, similar to the old one pictured, in my shop when I moved into the new place. That is a dangerous death trap. I remember my dad and his best friend built their own back in the 80’s.

I like my Ol' Man I have an original and MultiVision... like the original the best. Nothing wrong with the stands I use a safety harness form the time I leave the ground.
For those that want to say it's the most dangerous stand ever made that is not the case I can assure anyone. The Baker was dangerous but there were literally millions of stands from Warren/Sweat and Amacker that would kill you not to mention the other several million of knockoffs you could pick up anywhere.
Warren & Sweat had nothing but a slick blade and those would fall to the bottom of the tree about every time you used it. Heck I think the Amacker Deer Slayer didn't even have a blade it just had 2 little sharp pointed pieces of rod welded to it about 2" long and that's all that bit into the tree.
You know what you did back then? Put a bungee around it and prepared to jump out if necessary. Folks wore underwear back then instead of panties I guess.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.
My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.
