My son's GF is from Venezuela. Her family left just before everything went to crap. She ~24 and lived there until she was 13. I asked her what is happening and she told me that she never knew that Guyana was a different country. They were taught in school that land was part of Venezuela and was just in UN court for a treaty dispute. She said that she never knew it was a different country until she moved to America. But is it full of natural resources and oil.

Brazil is concerned because they don't want war so close to their border. They don't want a bunch of refugees or fighting to spill over into their country.

That area is still pretty wild and tribal but it is loaded with gold and oil and other goodies. All three countries need an excuse to develop the infrastructure to get at those things. War is a really good excuse.

Venny is granting oil exploration permits for the area. World media, not US media, is already calling the area "disputed territory" and is not calling it Guyana. Looks like Biden and the UK is just handing the land over to Venny, no shots fired, and heck not even some finger shaking or firmly worded letters.
