I started collecting full boxes of Vintage Shotgun shells about 25 years ago. Mostly paper shells along with some of the first plastic shells to hit the market. The Red paper Western Shells are my favorite as that was what my late Daddy shot Dove and Quail hunting in the early 60's.....and ohhhhhhh the smell of a spent shell!! Got mostly Remington,Peters,Winchester,Western and a few Fiocchi. The boxes were so Colorful back then....especially the Mallard Duck on the Peters Box. Got them placed in a wooden gun cabinet I fitted with glass shelves. Anybody else collect them?

I don’t collect, but a few years ago I found some old 300win ammo at a yard sale. I bought it because I thought it was cool. I had no plan to shoot it, but curiosity got the better of me. It was by far the most accurate ammo I’ve shot out of my 300. Killed my biggest deer with it too, if I recall. I’ve got the box around somewhere.

Ive got a few old boxes. Some of the boxes are in bad shape, but still pretty neat to look at. I need to make a display for them.

Anyone ever seen any .30-06 shells with 110s?

Wonder if the .25-35 was used for deer?

Good ol' TG&Y. At the one in Montgomery, we kids use to say was for Turtles Girdles and Yo-Yo's. laugh

Read that the .25-35 was used a lot for Turkey hunting back when rifles were legal. Also an early Varmit round. Not a very fast round though....was usually used in lever action rifles.

I got those from my lady friend and 3-4 more full boxes. A couple of those were newer white box Winchesters. That makes me think her dad, who has really bad dementia, maybe has a rifle chambered in that, but she hasn’t found it. He had guns squirreled away all over the place, so maybe it’ll turn up. Found a few loose .45-70 and .22 Hornet shells too, really hope those show up. Chances are, they all walked with some of his former employees that really took advantage of his situation.

Everything was beautiful and made better back in the day. That's why I only use antique furniture.

Buckwheat, if I send you a pic or two of my collection in an email, can you post it here? A lot of members will have some fond memories of some of my collection. I have given up on the posting of pics process! I can send you my email in a pm if you can.
