16) Always have rubber gloves.

17) If this is your 1st camper, try a couple of spots very close to the house. You will forget something, this way you can add it your camping list.

What I learned

-It sucks to forget your power cord and have to go back to get it rolleyes Make a list of important MUST have items and check it 100 times to make sure you have it packed.
-Forgot to pack a tool kit, you will definitely need that
-Gloves for the sewage hookup
-Extra Fuses
-Backup Camera while not necessary would be nice

I have a friend from my boy scout days who almost died there. Repelled off the stone house and rope was not tied correctly. Fell onto that big flat rock at bottom I think it was about 35 feet.

As an 8 year old kid I have never forgotten that. Or my scoutmaster doing cpr on him until the paramedics could get there.

My brothers and I were Boy Scouts we had great scout masters and our dad too all were WW2 vets...they taught us everything... yall know survival was the main theme...... I still have my scout handbook......for us primitive camping was the bomb... anybody was in the scouts knows what you learn you really can't put a price tag on ...it's priceless....

Campers ...check into your KOA and like camp grounds...unhitch your camper and head to the nearest grocer if you forgot something... not going to a KOA and getting so far out you lose cell phone signal....yall know you best bring everything but the kitchen sink so check your list so many times it gets annoying... everyone will thank you later...

I used to love going camping on the spur of the moment. When I was a teenager some of my friends and I would decide to go and be in our trucks in 15-30 minutes headed to the lake. Didn't need any tents or even sleeping bags. Boots and coveralls along with whatever quilts and blankets you could round up usually did the trick. I kept a couple of army surplus wool blankets behind the seat of my old Ford truck. Later I bought a mummy bag. I was in high cotton then. On the way we'd pick up a loaf of bread, bologna, and ice if we couldn't raid Momma's refrigerator first.

Now I enjoy sleeping in a good warm bed in winter and a cool bed in summer. I don't think I need to say much about rain.

I put a gate valve on our discharge valve. That was a f bc and changer for the better. Agree with the in-line fault indicator for the power, adapter for 50/30 hook ups. Extra cord for the just in case.
Try to get to camp spot in the daylight. Can get pretty heated trying to back into a spot uphill, dark, reverse lights reflect off camper into side mirrors hence leaving you blinded by the light. Ask me how I know. Outdoor fires and charcoal cooking are whemsical, plan to cook on a portable propane grill

Winnebago’s can’t clear the burgerking drive through, and the air conditioner is the tallest part of the camper. My grandpa learned both of those lessons around 2006.

Gonna laugh. I’m a tent camper. Don’t go with the aldeer crew. They will get you put in jail. A divorce. A visit by a park ranger. After a few beers the ranger was cool.

Be sure to drain and blow out the plumbing if you're not going to use it for a while in the Winter. There should be low point drains on both the hot and cold lines. I use a bit of potable antifreeze in mine.

A carport for your camper at home is money well spent. The graphics stickers will fade quicker than you think, and the sun will dry and crack the roof and seals over time.

Check the tire pressure before you leave home with it, EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Check your rubber roof for cracks or leaks often.

Keep a step stool in a closet or in the truck. Your wife is going to want you to tweak the awning, hang some string lights, wipe pelican schitt off the siding or one of a dozen other tasks, and you'll do it.

I always have an extra water hose with me. In case I need it for length or in case one had a leak.

The closest my wife and I have ever came to getting divorced was when we would go on camping trips....I know most folks would tell you that it is relaxing and fun, but the opposite has been my experience. She launched a pair of channel lock pliers at me at Clear Creek on Smith Lake a couple summers ago.

We sold the camper.

Just ante up for an Airbnb is my suggestion

You’re not a camper unless you can throw a 2 man tent on a Harley and go for a few days. Otherwise you are a Glamper. Sissified camper. LOL.
