If you have a problem seeing too many does one of your main problems is you don't know how to deer hunt. All you are doing is sitting in a shooting house most likely.
That's your real problem. If you don't know how to hunt and are sitting there watching does in a food plot.... shooting the does isn't going to fix your problem.
That's reality for you. Sorry, but that's the truth of the matter. It hurts but you'll be ok. Maybe read a book on deer hunting while you are doing all this "doe watching" and see if you can figure something out.
Yep. Y'all could easily go 10 pages and nobody calls you out but the good news is I'm here to fill that void. What's wrong with sitting in a shooting house if that's where the deer are? Someone isn't a hunter if they don't hunt like you do? My philosophy for killing bucks during the rut is go where the does are. During the last 2 weeks of the season, I could have killed 4 mature bucks, all 120-130"+ while sitting on green fields. You do your thing, I'll do mine. All but 2 hunts I saw 20-40 deer and 4-8 bucks. That's good enough for me

You might just be looking in the wrong place, some places have too many does I’ve tracked deer from one end of Montgomery Co to the other….from the north side of town up and down the river….numerous spots inside the city limits……Pike Rd……Line Creek…..behind all those cattle farms on 231…….around Sikes and Kohn…….behind the Hyundai plant……Woodley Rd…..Mathews…… up 82…..down to Ramer…….and even further on south into Petrey, Highland Home, Ansley……I can think of 40-50 locations just off the top of my head……What I’m saying is, I’m not just shooting from the hip here with my opinion about the population……. There’s a big difference in having a lot of does versus having too many……There’s very few areas that have too many. I’ve only seen a handful of places that legitimately need to shoot a bunch of does but there definitely are some. There’s no doubt there’s plenty of deer around where you hunt and its probably one of the areas that’s flirting with that “need to” line……Any one property could choose to do whatever they wanted and its not gonna change that…..shoot does, don’t shoot does…..there’s still a good overall population to make up for what any one person does…… However, when lots of folks from the larger area around you begin ramping up doe harvesting more and more then the scenario has the potential to change……Suddenly one year you blast those does out and replacements don’t just show right back up like they used to……What used to be 20-30 out in the field every evening is now 10-15……Things change over time and according to the data, doe harvesting for Montgomery county has been steadily on the rise……I wouldn’t get too content into thinking things will always be the way they are now in ANY county or area….We majorly changed the rules of the game a few years ago and all the dust kicked up by those changes hasn’t settled just yet. That 25 acres next door that was never hunted in the past may get leased next year.

For those of you who can see 10 or more on a greenfield, I envy you. The most I have ever seen was this year, it was a new field, and I had 8 in it. Usually I see 4 to 6 max. I have camera's on fields so that's how I watch. I used to read posts on here where people were seeing 20+,30+,40+ deer in an evening. I wanted that and i made it happen. I believe its just a matter of providing food and safety for an extended period of time. It was a little different this year, i havent put my finger on why yet. But it is possible, just feed them and leave them alone

Trigger control on food plots is the number one way to ensure the ladies keep using them. And that the gents show up when the time is right. But it's a personal preference. If you want to shoot does, and it's legal and abides by the state laws, and / or club rules, then go right ahead. Just remember that when they stop showing up in decent numbers. Because they will. This doesn't necessarily mean that you don't have deer. It just means they are pressured. Yup one of the biggest arguments we had as a club at back in the 90s. One group liked to shoot does and I was glad they did. Problem was some members wanted to see does every time they crawled up in a shooting house. A lot of does were shot on the fields which led to does not coming out until dark. Young bucks would wear out the fields since they were protected. The only thing I could come up was split the fields. The ones on our boundaries, fire away. Ones in the interior, the doe killing ceased like first week of December. Had nothing to do biologically rather a weird way to make both happy which it didn’t.

There are a lot of different ways to kill a buck. Some people think they way better than every one else and they probably suck. Clearcut my all time fav - like crossings good & big bucks also hit roads in the rut - see it every year - killed some good deer in roads - seen my best in roads. I like green fields now and if you know how to hunt em (keep your pressure down and always hunt wind) you can kill good deer. I keep a lot of sanctuaries on my place - places i never enter. Killed my best deer on green field this year - he was sniffing for a doe and leaving field. Killed 6 year old last year in field and 7 year old year before - but i keep pressure down and spread it out Low pressure trumps everything out there
Hunt the wind - leave it better than you found it - love your neighbor as you love your self We need prayer for our country now more than ever

My favorite way to kill a buck is sitting in a shooting house, watching Bama play on the iPad while drinking coffee from my Stanley thermos. With my boots off and my toes warming up by the buddy heater. While watching a corn feeder. Mine too !
