A lot depends on your circumstances. I retired last year at 66 and it is fantastic. My wife and I were just discussing how nice it is to spend the morning just chilling out, have a cup of coffee, watch some depressing news and have the opportunity to do whatever we may choose for the day. I am blessed in that I retired to about 320 acres so I really have more to do than I ever could get done. It is scary how fast weeks go by now. Now if I was stuck in a normal house with not a lot to do it would be different. I would counsel anyone to retire as soon as possible if they have the resources because a lot of retirement quality will be determined by your health. I am ate up with Osteo arthritis and have A Fib and have both really diminished my ability to accomplish and do what I would like.
