Killed one in Texas last year standing a few yards from a feeder.
He wasn't there to eat corn.

Shot one last year but made a bad shot with the bow.

Killed a 142 over triple threat. I've seen a few over a corn pile just not on a feeder. Older deer react different to a pile vs a feeder. Guy I hunt with killed a 162 and a 153 4 yrs ago. At the end of the day the deers score had nothing to do with it. Most mature deer down here will be lucky to be 130 at 4 1/2. Or even 5 1/2.

Good bucks are killable over corn at the right time. I use it pretty effectively. Same set up for years. Feeder and a blind. Feed year round, and I don’t hunt it at all until I get a shooting light pic of a good buck I want to kill. Usually about the same time each season and although they may grab a bit to eat they are after the does. I killed a nice mature 9 this year doing that. Got my first daylight pic one morning and was in my blind for the next 3 mornings. The third morning he came in at 7am. Usually can get one or two good bucks a year doing that. Sure it’s not old school hunting but I don’t care at this point. Have one hell of a comfortable office chair in my blind too😁. No they aren’t 140 deer. 140 deer ain’t the norm here. BTW- I don’t use a feeder, I pour a bag out every 3 days or so, never could get my bucks used to a feeder. They just don’t like them at my place.

We have and it is done as previously described..... feed year-round and don't hunt the feeder until you pattern the buck. My only suggestion would be when you start hunting don't hunt it once and go home you need to ride the feeder until you kill it. If you have patterned it you correctly.... you can kill it in a 3 day weekend almost for sure.
The problem is getting a deer like that to come to the feeder in the first place. If we have 4-5 bucks that big we'll be lucky for 1 of them to be stupid enough to hit the feeder regularly like that. I save these for the kids to shoot.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.
