I have been hunting in KY for about a decade now, but have never been able to plant a food plot.
I'm now going to have the opportunity to plant about 20 ac on a 400ac crp and hardwood farm. It is surrounded by corn and soybean farms.
Having never planted that far north, I have a couple of questions....
1) Does it make sense to plant clover now, or just wait and plant it in the fall? We're fired up and I have some enthusiasm I can capitalize on.
2) What timeframe do you plan to plant you plots?
3) Have you noticed a preferred planting?
4) Is there a specific plant that you have found successful there that isn't as attractive here?
In a perfect world I would be able to establish clover and then drill Turnips, Radishes, and triticale in the fall. What about alfalfa?
