Had a young dog I was starting and decided to take her out bt myself one night. It was very windy that night and when I turned her loose I had a weird feeling. After about 20 minutes she trees and I go in and she is treeing up a leaning tree. This tree was still alive and about 2 foot across leaning against some other trees. I go under the tree and leash her and bring her back under and just a she was getting out from under the tree it crashes to the ground. Her and I were almost crushed. I decided it was time to get out of there and my light goes out.
I almost drug that dog to death getting to the truck with no light.

I think all of these "stories" about this place are wishful thinking. It all started back when one person heard "something" and made it our to be way worse cause he psyched himself out. After that anyone that goes in has already done so with that in mind and starts hearing things that arent there. I wanna go in there with poorpreach and his dogs...and YEKRUT with a stick. See whats happens. now if something eats one of his dogs, Ill leave and become a believer. Say when but I am carrying a boom stick not a hickory stick.

Blake, my treeing fiest, just told me he ain't scared of no Booger, and will be more than happy to make him climb a tree. My other dog, Joe, is too dumb to be afraid of anything, but I'm sure he will be glad to bark a whole lot if a Booger is located. Ya'll say when.

True story from one of my best friends...
He was out stalk hunting some land that was a reclaimed strip mine one frigid cold January morning. He was way back in the woods and was stalking up through a pretty thick stand of planted pines and he got scared. Just one of those times when you are in the woods and the hair stands up on the back of your neck. He says he had never felt like that before, he took a few more steps and stopped. He heard laughter and voices. He knew he was walking up on a strip pit that was a lake, so he made a big circle and got to the top of a little ridge where he could see the lake. As soon as he peaked up over the ground he could see two people a man and woman in the lake playing like it was 95 degrees and their clothes on the muddy bank. It was 20 degrees that morning, no vehicle, no atv in sight. As he was wondering what the heck was going on some 200 yards away laying completely still in full camo...BOTH people locked eyes on him. He hauled butt back into the pine thicket and listened for something to crank up. He never heard a sound. Being scared to death but still curious he eased down to the lake and didn't see a trace of a person, no footprints in the mud, no clothes, no water on the bank. Nothing. He believes that he saw ghosts that day and has never walked through that same patch of woods some 15 years later.

He believes that he saw ghosts that day and has never walked through that same patch of woods some 15 years later. Why do people always run off in stories like this? Not picking on your buddy, but why didn't he walk down there and talk to them. 2 naked people swimming in a lake with it 20 degrees couldn't have presented much danger, and he had a gun anyway. If I ever see a ghost, I'm gonna try to talk to him and see what he can tell me. Might give me some good sermon material. On the other hand, a Booger needs to be shot.

I was hunting with my dad one morning and decided to sit on the edge of a bluff. It gave me the perfect view of the bottoms below and I just knew I was going to kill a deer. All was going well, until I decided to get up. As I went to get up, I started sliding down the rock I was sitting on, right towards going off the bluff. I got myself stopped, by laying on my back and spreading out my arms and legs. However, everytime I moved, I slid a little closer to falling. I was so terrified, I could barely shout for help. I finally got out a good loud HELP!! and just waited. It seemed like forever, until I heard my dad running through the woods towards me. When he got there, it took him a couple minutes of trying to stop laughing, before he could help me.

Ok I have a few but I will share the funny one.
I used to hunt the Pea river swamp right on the Fla line in Geneva CO. It was a huge swamp and I was always a little nervous about the place as we were told about bears, big cats and boogers. Well one afternoon I decided to build up my nerve and walk down this old overgrown logging road that goes back to a big slew deep in the swamp. I get back to the slew and a nut worked loose out of my climber forcing me to either walk back out or sit on the ground. Well I am sitting on the ground against a tree for about five mins. and notice a tree with huge claw marks up and down it, I mean as high as 10 ft. Well that put me more on edge. about an hour before dark I hear this heavy rustling coming trough some thick briars and growth to my left. I am really getting nervous now as I know its not a deer cause it is way to large. It gets closer and closer forcing its way through the stuff. I can finally see a large black figure though the stalks of the growth. I am officially freaking out now. I can't see what it is, I know it is huge, black and probably whatever made the marks on the tree. I was at the flight or fight moment and knew I was not fast enough to beat this spawn of Satan. Or that is what I had made it in my mind. As it continues to move toward me, I can't make it out as the briars are so thick. Finally it stops about 25 yards from me and I am almost in complete panic mode as all I can see is a huge black figure in the bushes and briars. I had my Rifle pointed dead at it waiting for it to make its final assault on me....and then it happened. The beast let out the loudest and most clear.....MOOOO!!! I have ever heard from a cow. It took me an hour to breath normal I started laughing at myself so hard.
I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees. _ ___________ _

Yep. That was one of my favorites from hunting season. One of em I remember the best although I didn't just read it, involved walking through the woods at dusk and a large black figure closing in from behind at a good rate of speed and the faster he went the faster the figure went until it passed him and it was a garbage bag blowing in the wind. That would have made me chit my drawers.
Yeah c’mon. Daniel White
