17 out of this spot. Probably busting dams and pulling traps tomorrow. Just set a cable restraint over a culvert with a beaver living in it between two houses. Really weird spot. He was smacking his tail inside the pipe when I set it. To scared to set anything else because of pets. Good spot for a swim thru cage trap but they are $$$

Caught this pair last night. Had an otter in a 330 perpendicular to the road the night before. Saw they had stopped up a 15” metal culvert so I set up 2 footholds on drowning cables. Previous job a couple of weeks ago everything came on 330’s at castor mounds or feed piles. Dam break with a foothold went untouched while the 330 produced 3 adults with one pregnant female carrying 2 kits. Female this morning was nursing so there is a couple more dying as we speak. This location they have a 36” plastic culvert with debris 1’ high for 10-15 feet inside the pipe. If I have to set it it’s going to be tough water is deep and the mud (slop) is deeper. They brought an excavator in and replaced the culvert before removing the beaver. ALWAYS remove the beaver first. Digging things out is temporary at best and makes the trappers job more difficult.

PSA-if you get the 4 coiled No-BS Beaver traps, get the one hand setters too. Managed to get my thumb in one today setting one to get some measurements. Luckily it wasn’t a full send snap but believe me, the lock up is intense. Couldn’t step on the levers and managed to get some regular setters on the levers enough to get loose. Took a couple of minutes and I gave a 1/4” intention the width of the jaw face on both sides of my thumb.

I ended up twisting a jacket up like you would a wet towel to pop someone. Smacked him in the neck and it wrapped around him long enough for me to grab him. Wasn't to hard to do since he kept trying to stab me in the face.

Being able to use them with one hand could really get a fella out of a bind

I have a set of the RTS setters but rarely use them because they’re slow. A lot safer though
