I havent posted anything about this because, quite frankly, its been terrible. I been struggling with it a couple weeks. But here it is and i give God the glory, even in my mistakes. Had a bad accident at work two weeks ago. I was blocking a tree down. Common practice. Ive dne it thousands of times i guess. Well, this time a 6ft long 200lb piece of wood hit a friend of mine who helps me. I looked down and saw him just as i pushed the piece of wood off the stob. I scrramed "watch out", and he moved just enough to keep it from hitting him in the center of the head. He just laid there, eyes open, staring up at the sky, unresponsive. I was 50ft or so up in the tree. I had to tie in andget down which took a minute or so i guess, seemed like an hour. When i got to him he was kinda snoring or gasping, knocked out, looked just like what it looks like on movies ehen someone is dying. I thought he was dying. I beat on the door and told the home owner to call 911 and get an ambulance there fast. I ran over and straightened out his leg that was turned backwards and put his head in my lap and petted him and talked to him as i begged the Lord to please not let him die. I was thinking about having to call his daddy, a good friend of mine, and his wife and tell them i had killed him. Begging the Lord all the time to please not let him die. In a minute he came to and we prayed together untill the ambulance got there. I dont know but i believe it could have gone either way. There was a video from a security camera, he watched it yesterday and has said over and over the Lord saved him, he should be dead. He has no explanation for why he was under that tree. Said you can hear the saw running in the video and he just walks under the tree. Ive played it over and over in my head and if i had looked down 5 seconds earlier, i could have kept it from happening. I was doing some work a couple days later on my property by myself, running my skidsteer and a scripture came to mind. I broke down and the Lord took me back to that moment when i didnt know if he would live or die. He reminded me i asked him not to let my friend die and he didnt let him die. He told me he knew that was more than i could bear and he didnt make me go through that. My friend knows he should have died and the Loed saved him, hes said it repeatedly. Ive been wrestling with guilt the past few days. Its been hard. I got some good advice today so im letting this go. Im giving it to the Lord. All the Lord deserves is glory, even from my mistakes. I reckon this is the worst thing ive ever experienced but even in this the Lord was with me. He was there holding me while i was holding him. Hes good. He can and will save your life.

Bad cut on the back of his head, two broke vertebreas, three broke ribs, broke pelvis, dislocated hip, crushed left ancle, fractured right lower leg bone, cut on kidney, bruised aorta. Everything is healing and will heal. Came home in 5 days. Hes tecovering well but will be out of work fir atleast 6 weeks, i guess.

Thank God he’s okay. What kind of injuries did he have?

The log hit him in the back of the head and pretty much broke or bruised everything it touched from there down.

And i do realize this event can be looked at and explained several different ways. All i can do is report what i went through myself and what it meant to me.

Wow J. Thanks for sharing that. I have struggled with some guilt from some of my decisions affecting loved ones. Also struggled with guilt from not doing what I felt the Lord was telling me to do and my family was affected heavily from my disobedience. Satan uses that guilt to eat you up. I’m glad you have gotten some good advice to deal with it. Praise the Lord.

Man that’s a great Easter blessing. We should all try to live to serve a risen savior, myself included. Glad you shared that blessing and hope your friend continues to heal up.

I dont believe anything is trully an accident. I do believe all things work together for the good of those who love the Lord, just like the Bible says. This is not just a terrible situation were going through. There is some good in it for him and me. Getting my good out of it is the place where im stuck right now. I would sure hate for us to go through all of this and not get the positive out of it just because we neglected to look for it.

God always answers prayers sometimes it’s not always the answer we want but it is his answer and his plan. Glad your coworker is on the mends

If you haven’t figured out why it happened or learned a lesson from the incident yet, you will… I don’t know you personally but from listening to you here, I can tell you try to stay as close to God and his will for your life as you can (or so it seems). I believe the same as you, everything has a purpose or reason. I always try to pray for explanations from my mistakes and short comings. Prayers for your friend and family.

Thank the Lord for His mercy. I wonder if one of those hand held boat blasters, would work to warn your workers to look up before dropping a limb or such?
