Growing up in the 60's/70's we called them June Bugs. They would shed there outer shell and it would be stuck on pine tree bark mostly....looked like a pork skin! You called cicadas June Bugs? These are June bugsYeah that one got me. June bugs are June bugs and cicadas are cicadas. What about red eyed an green eyed locusts
