I don't remember the exact years but something like 17 year and 30 something year hatches are both happening this year so the numbers are huge and the sound is loud. They pick back up in parts of MS, but are absent from a lot of AL. They’re different than the annual green cicada we see every year. I don’t think we will see any in most of west and NW AL.
