We feed our steers 9lbs of 12% beef pellets for the last 180 days of their life. They get all the grass, leaves, poison oak ETC they can eat and pond water to drink. I enjoy how ours turn out. I do not sell them, only feed out enough for family and friends. My way isnt the cheapest by far, its just what we prefer. About time for us to get a load of yearlins out there. Prices have stabilized somewhatit seems.
Good luck, no matter what you get it will be better than that walmart/costco crap.
