Would a big pay raise make you move from Alabama??

Where to? I’d probably move closer to the gulf if I made enough to run a rig and fish like I’d need to if I lived down there

I'd think about it, but at this time in life and the other people in my life, more than likely no.
Maybe later on.

I've been working remote/hybrid for about 5 years. Turned down an opportunity that would have paid $30K more to be in the office every day in Atlanta. Between wife having to give up her job and increased housing costs it wasn't worth it. Plus (a) it's in Atlanta and (b) would have to be in an office every day.

I’m not in Alabama, but it would take a chit load of money to get me to leave my little piece of heaven here. Especially where I’m at in life.

Check the COL for the area you have to move to. Then figure the current rate of real inflation, not the government rate, the real rate. Then take that big pay raise and tell them to double it before you decide to think about it.

Unless you’re moving to Atlanta theres not a whole lot of difference between the two.

Considering who he works for I’m pretty sure he’s talking about Atlanta. I doubt anyone would come up with the kind of money it would take to get me there. Someplace like Montana would or Wyoming and I’d be gone tomorrow.

Too many variables to consider and not enough info.

But no, I wouldn't move for any job because it's hard to find a job you love and it's hard to find good people to work with. What if you get there and can't stand your coworkers? I'f you like it now, I wouldn't change it. I know people that left and never got the pay that was promised.
