The in-laws have a condo at the beach. Lots of insurance companies have left Florida area due to hurricanes and such. Add to it that building that collapsed a couple years ago and the ones that continue to do business there have really ripped the residents. Their condo monthly HOA dues have gone from a little over $400 a month to over $1,400 a month and it’s all due to insurance. Lots of owners have been selling due to the cost rise. Apparently there is state legislation going on to offer relief in the form of grants and such for the insurance increases. I know a guy who has one in the Perdido area. Got hit with a 28,000 dollar fee. They were hit with a $10k assessment too
