I have a kubota tractor with a front end loader that I’ll never get rid of prob, but I’d like a heavy duty mower too.
My buddy has a tool cat and the dang thing is pretty awesome! He has a bucket that’ll pick up a pretty good load, a finishing mower and an extreme duty mower attachment. All this with a Utv type steering, front facing equipment, bucket seats plus heat and AC.
I don’t know if I can ever justify a skid steer but I could see purchasing one of these, using it as a mower and a tracto/skid steer hybrid.
Anybody else got one? Opinions? I really want a heavy duty mower but I hate looking backwards all the time…
Also he said he can run this most anywhere since it doesn’t have tracks. Doesn’t tear up the ground.

I'd just get a skidsteer if it's an option

I would love a skid steer. One with a heavy duty brush cutter would just be the bomb at a hunting club.

It really depends on the tasks and area that needs to be mowed and what would get used more. Skid steer on wheels is cool until ya get uneven or muddy terrain...

There was a guy at our camp that ran an equipment rental company (Bobcat) and that's what he brought to cut ours. I think he used a shark cutter on it...basically an HD bushhog that can chew up old rotting dead fall, brush, small trees etc with ease, and he could run faster than a tractor/bushhog while cutting grass.

experience is a freakin' awesome teacher....

That tool cat thing looks like a useless waste of money…if i was the most illustrious potentate…id have a smaller tractor around 40hp…a big tracter around a 150hp…that would cover all my implement use as far as breaking ground and planting…and thennnn🤠….id have a svL 95 for small gravel jobs and little dirt work operations…d39 komatsu for fire lanes and road building…old steerin wheel cat grader for road maintenance…kubota u55 mini-x to fix ditches an lay water lines…and top it all off with a case 580 super N backhoe with ride control…they aint the best backhoe..but byned they the best to operate…i have spoken…😱🤗🤠

I saw it in action, it’s pretty impressive. I could swing a used skid steer, I just don’t know if I can justify it to sit around and use every so often. I would mow with this thing. Just kicking it around and wanted opinions.

The problem with the Tool Cat is that it is expensive and you are very limited in what you can do with it. The overall weight is the issue. You are just limited to whatever you can attach to the front and this is not a loader. Skid steer is way more useful and resale is also a consideration.

Running a brush cutter is one thing but you will hate a skid steer for just basic mowing. If it’s grass the tracks will tear it to shreds when you turn. Skid steer (tracks or wheels) will ride rougher than I care for for bush hogging. Air ride seat helps.

Skid steer with tracks. Lots of attachments to be had for heavy duty clearing. You already have the tractor to follow up with.

A tracked skid steer large enough to run one of those heavy , brush, tree cutters along with the cutter is a lot of $ to have sitting around not making any $. They are a beast on any heavy brush and small trees , but don't cut grass well.

Tracked skid steer if you can find a good used one.

I bought one when i was building my house and planned to re-sell once i was finished. It may set alot at times but that thing will never leave the farm unless it is getting replaced by a bigger/newer one.

I seen a John Deere 333 with tracks and 6way dozer blade on the web earlier for around $100k. Had very low hours on it as well
