There’s only certain counties these cicadas live in AL. It’s far northeast, some east central and southeast. They pick back up in parts of MS, but are absent from a lot of AL. They’re different than the annual green cicada we see every year. I don’t think we will see any in most of west and NW AL. You cannot hear when you walk outside over by the airport in Tuscaloosa. I call it Northport but technically its Tuscaloosa. They are extremely loud! Yeah. They’re hatching in a few places they weren’t documented in the last hatch. I still haven’t heard or seen a single one in all my traveling the last couple of weeks. Lol. Come to Columbus, they are absolutely crazy
