About normal amount down here in Lower Bama. Just started hearing them this last week.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

I herd them on 79 just south of Guntersville, drove me crazy I thought the kids were doing something and made them sit still and not move and I figure that's what I was hearing after reading these posts

The cicadas at the house finally shut up last night. I wondered if the electromagnetic storm which brings the northern lights was the reason

Same here , I thought it might have been the cool night. They're getting fired back up this morning, warmer it gets , louder they get. .

They’re crazy loud in Moundville now. Gas station window was covered in them Thursday am before daylight.

Yeah they ruins the last days of turkey season. Couldn’t hear a gobble unless right on top of him. Notuu hi one at the farm where the shop is. The other side next to big timber they’re loud. Wondered if the property next to the shop was in fields but now planted in oaks. Guess they’ve never laid eggs there since it was in fields.

It’s weird that how they chirp at a distance but not up close. Went camping over the weekend in the middle of the woods. Never heard any right at you, seemed like they were always at a far..

Won’t be long before it will look like fall. They cut a slit in the end of branches and lay eggs. The slit kills the end, the leaves turn brown and the end falls to the ground. The eggs hatch and I guess the larvae goes intro the ground until next time.

We will soon see 12”-18” branch dead tips laying around

Wait until you see the high turkey numbers next year. This year’s polts sure get a boost. Bluegill and bass are tearing into the cicadas as well. I guess about anything will eat them. I had a dog that tore into these things during a hatch in south Missouri around 1997 or so. She’d eat the off the tree

They're going pretty good in South Pittsburg. Sounds like police sirens in the distance.
