Won’t be long before it will look like fall. They cut a slit in the end of branches and lay eggs. The slit kills the end, the leaves turn brown and the end falls to the ground. The eggs hatch and I guess the larvae goes intro the ground until next time.

We will soon see 12”-18” branch dead tips laying around


Wait until you see the high turkey numbers next year. This year’s polts sure get a boost. Bluegill and bass are tearing into the cicadas as well. I guess about anything will eat them. I had a dog that tore into these things during a hatch in south Missouri around 1997 or so. She’d eat the off the tree
