It’s tough but you can do it. I quit Copenhagen cold turkey in 1998.

I had dreams about dipping for years.

Quit cold turkey in 2008, after dipping for about 20 years. Stopped and got 2 cansof Copenhagen like I did every morning before work. Got to work and took a dip and it tasted weird (had a bad sinus infection at the time). Asked a guy that worked with me who also dipped to try it and see if it tasted normal. He said it tasted normal to him. Took another dip a little later and still had the weird taste to me. Opened the 2nd can just to make sure and it too had the weird taste. Gave the guy at work both cans and have had 1 dip since then (the non tobacco stuff). Spit it out after about 5 minutes and havent had anything since. Now, I cant even stand the smell or to see someone spitting in a spit cup or bottle.

I never got hooked on dip, but smoked for almost 20 years. What worked for me was counting cigs, then reducing the number each day, until I got to zero. Been quit almost 28 years now.

Tried to get my dad to quit for years. Finally bought him a can of Zyn to try a couple months ago. He hasn’t bought dip since, switched to Zyn completely. Not as good as quitting cold turkey, but still better than dipping tobacco.

Best part is, no more spit bottles/cups either

I would think zyn could possibly be worse aren’t there a bunch of chemicals in it to make the different flavors? I think vaping may be worse than cigarettes for same reason

I found it easy to quit. I dipped Cope fine cut from 15 years old to 35 years old. When I quit I was 2 cans a day. One day I decided to stop and all I did was stop going inside the gas station.

It sounds stupid but literally that’s all I did. I just wouldn’t go inside.

If you really want to quit you can and will.

My neighbor quit cold turkey. Didn’t have much of a choice after his jaw was removed.

My wife was a smoker and a buddy was a dipper and they were talking about it one night and my wife said the only difference was she could have a open casket!!

Nothing you won't find in gum or some of the food we eat, or so they claim. I still think it's better than tobacco. Won't cure your nicotine addiction, though. If anything, it'll probably make it worse.

I haven't had a dip in 25 years. But I know that if I smell it I want one. If I see a buddy get a can out to get a dip I walk away. The urge after 25 years is that strong with me. That and porn were the 2 hardest habits to kick. LA still calls once or twice a week wanting me to do a scene or two.

I've quit twice, made it 3 months each time.

Last time I quit was 35 years ago.

I love Copenhagen.

I tried that route and it made me want a real dip. Started back before long. I do not recommend it.

Cold-turkey is the only way - but you have to WANT to quit and be stong in weak moments. I was not, many times. Lord know I need to quit and stay quit.

I got to where I would get up at night to dip. Take a can sit it on a table and walk away, don’t look back just keep walking 😡

I was up to a can and half of Copenhagen a day when I quit. I dipped for 20 years and I quit Feb 7 2014. I used Nicorette gum and eventually weaned myself to regular gum. You can do it but you have to want to do it

If you could smell your own breath, you'd quit in a heartbeat.

Never met anyone who dips that you could get within 3-4 feet of while having a conversation.
