Cruisin down the backroads in a nice heated cab with a nice bright spotlight and a super accurate small caliber rifle. Doesn't get much better than that Thermals make it better. I stand corrected And suppressors make it even better!
This is Aldeer! The place people come to vent their frustrations and completely change their stance a few minutes later...

Flooded creek bottom in late November/early December with 100 year old red and white oaks. Permanent 20 foot ladder stand that I have killed over 20 bucks from. It is a terrible drag getting them out of the bottom, but it is so great a feeling!
I can't stand a thief.

Sitting on the ground in an oak bottom. By a creek in that oak bottom in the fall looking uphill at all of the changing colors Second for me is in a summit climber in the grey of dead winter with a little snow on the ground looking at so many redbirds in a holly tree they look like Christmas ornaments!

Hard to top the responses so far.
One favorite of mine are the "surprise" hunts when you don't have your favorite spot available when you go to sign out, and out of frustration take foam pad and just do your best to go find a place to sit against a tree. And low and behold you have several close up encounters in the same hunt. You may not shoot, but those are the times when I remember what hunting is supposed to feel like. After typing that out, I guess I should do it on purpose more often.

Shooting house in the easy chair with heater on listening to the ball game looking at my feeder in the food plot. Definitely this.

I stand corrected And suppressors make it even better! Whiskey makes it real. 😁 Actually my most enjoyable hunts lately have been easing into a place that’s good on a cold, pretty January morning, popping my Millennium tree seat in a likely place then hopefully popping a deer when it comes by. I do the blind & field or corn thing too, but the ground hunt in a likely spot back in the woods feels the most like “real hunting.”

On the distance I like to walk to my stands: “The first 100 yards is also the last 100 yards.”

30' high in a climber- watching the edge of some hardwoods and pines where I can still see down into a 2 to 3 tear old clear-cut.
