I planted this five weeks ago, i think. Ive never seen anything grow like it does. On the back side of this fence is a pasture and a house 400yds or so away. We hunt this field and see alot of deer but every time one steps out, it looks straight at that house in the background. I was hoping to make the house disappear. Looks like its gona work. I just hope it continues to grow and is still standing come hunting season.

I've used it before, it worked great. That looks great for this time of year.

How does it fare in the winter? I realize it’ll die but does it stay vertical?

It does ok if you dont plant it too thick and the stalks get big enough

Did you just broadcast it? At what rate/acre and what and how much fertilizer. I need to plant some to block view of a field right by a road

My son broadcast it. We planted it a little thick. I would recommend a little thinner than what is suggested. Im using 20-20-20 foliar fertilizer once a week because i have it already and i can drive by it and spray it on . I have another strip of it that isnt doing as well as whats in those pictures. It might be a little thicker and its growing right u against a little pine thicket. I dont think this stuff likes competition at all. This is my first experience with it at all. Im learning as i go. Theres a house way in the background of that picture. My intentions are for the deer to walk out in the field and not see that house. They stare at it every time they walk out

I think it will accomplish your objectives. The only way mine fell over was when the deer knocked it down to get the grain.

Plant 4-6lbs an acre to have thick stalks. If you plant thick, it will have spindly stalks and rain and wind will blow it over. It loves nitrogen. Apply when dry, just before a rain.
