What do yall think about this kind of gardening? 6' pvc pipe towers with plants growing out of them and pumping water over the roots? Just curious if yall ever did anything like this. I stumbled upon it while researching gardens. Rabbit holes are everywhere lol

I think jono might have some input. I think he did hydroponics.

I’ve done some lettuce in a large tote. Worked ok. I’ll try to find a pic of it.

Have seen some true hydroponics on tomatoes. They were the seeds that don’t stop growing. They grew from the ground to the ceiling and back to the ground in a greenhouse structure..

They tasted great. Check out gardening with Leon, on YouTube. He tells all the fertilizer and minerals that you need.

That is pretty freaking cool.

We grow romaine and spinach in the early Spring and late Fall and have had a GREAT return, but once if freezes or get too hot (May time-frame) - that's pretty much the end of it.

You could grow that indoors. Easy to make out of thin wall PVC and an aquarium pump. I might try it. I got a couple projects in my shop I have to finish first.

I thought the benefit of hydroponics was to be able to "feed" the plant more efficiently and precisely?

And space. You can grow vertically. And you can grow indoors so you could grow year round.
