The odds of those deer being related are close to zero. They’ve got injuries from pedicle damage.

Cull bucks. Drop the hamma. Get rid of that unicorn jean.

This.......had a retired member of one of my leases do some research on the web about pedicle damage. This is what a high percentage of deformed racks are caused by.

M-brock we hardly ever see deformed racks like that in IN?

Do you think it could do with our deer (AL) losing their horns due to being bumped in all this thick cover (planted pines, regen cutovers) when their not really fully ready to drop them?

Largely due to bucks still sparring during the two week antler cleaving process, secondary to 2nd,3rd etc rutting phases if unbred does are cycling into estrous still

Wish it was hunting season.....year round

It's in his jeans. Kill him. Get his jeans out the herd.

Precisely.

Eclipse, nothing wrong with you shooting him at all. I’m just stating it’s not a genetic condition.

Here’s one for you, from last year to this year. He was a clean 10 last year. This year he’s all nasty.

We had one like that last year and a guy a mile down the road killed him. I will see if I can find the pic to post.

I had pics of a bad side rack and one side a trophy - followed him for 3 years. First year - one nice side - 3 nots on other. Next year - bigger perfect side - nasty fork on other. 3rd year he had the pretty wall hanger side again - that looked same just bigger and he improved the other side and had 4 points but all an inch long
I shot him that last year - 16 1/2 inch inside - 9 point that included a dagger point off the base. I know that was same deer - i think one side was always going to be sorry. We had him at 5 1/2 and he weighed 213 pounds when i shot him
