I asked a Miss Mississippi one time when she was in the Alabama system going to USA and getting her premed. Myra was her name and 1st runner up Miss America if I recall. She used my pic to win Miss Photogenic so I appreciated her. Sent me a lot of work. I photographed two Miss Alabama’s and they were nothing but professional in their manners. Most of the ladies I photographed in that system were very well spoken and poised. It really changed what I once thought of the pageant system. Miss USA is more of modeling pageant unless it has changed but I’ve been out of the business for years now. Seeing the new Miss Alabama pic made me want to get back in. I alway said my favorite thing i photographed was pageant headshots. It’s not as easy as it seems.
