I thought the draw was tomorrow
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

I’m not sure but I think so. I know if you decline alternate you keep them but I’m not 100% on if you’re selected I understand that you do keep them

Me and my 3 friends all struck out. Sucks. If anyone needs a tag along, I’d love to go! I have all the gear except a boat and I can have one of those if I can bring a friend.

Wow 1001 preference points and not drawn. Well it looks like I am getting out of hospital in time to go gator hunting at the coastal zone. I would be thrilled to just catch a jubilee. Any thoughts yall on Coastal. I figure just do a bar crawl on on inercoastal waterway and sooner or later a decent gator should be traveling.
Missed yall!
Allen
If it was me I would go to the northern part of the bay and just stay on the south side of I-10. I see gators there every day crossing back and forth. Just watch your depths. It gets skinny quick in some spots.

Yep and that is some surenuff skinny water immediately South of Causeway. We are going to do a marina crawl on intercoastal. Sooner or later a good one should cross. Got 2 weekends and a free barniminium near wharf. The videos I have watched remind me of 2007 ( year 2 when gators just were not that scared of getting burnt eye. ) I have been disabled in bed for almost 3 years. This is my time for adventure. Atleast thats the plan. Good luck with it. I'm glad you are getting to go.

Thanks Abolt300! We typical put in at Bluegills and ran up to Gravine, Cliffs and little tensas East of Gravine. We might even put in at bayou labtre one evening. I did the lillian swamp forever wild tract study and I like the north west end of Perdido also. Jalen I grew up running around in that bayou la batre/ grand Bay Area. I've never seen a gator down there. That was years ago so I'm not saying there aren't any now but I ducked hunted that area pretty heavy from 2010-2020 and I don't remember ever seeing one. I think we might have seen a couple when launching from the Pascagoula side up close to the launch in the river but not out in the marsh. But I haven't been out there in a few years

ABOLT thanks boocoo. We always hunted from the causeway North.
PWYSEE Biggest monster gator I have ever seen hangs (REPORTS OF STILL BEING IN AREA ) at the first bend OF Tensaw on the East side of Gravine Island where the Tensas River opens up.
ABOLT.. Where do you put in to run the interstate? I assume you can run the I 10 corridor as it is deeper due to piling construction. Does the Coastal area get the South I -10 corridor and the Upper Delta the North side of I-10 corridor. The wording in regs is very ambigous as both upper and coastal "End" at Interstate I-10.
Thanks again. If I was fishing that side, I used to put in at Mizells on the east end, north side of the causeway on the east side of the Blakey back when I lived over there. Mizells sold, not sure what it’s called now but it’s probably still open. Run south on the Blakey and take a right and run between the E and W bound I10 lanes. Left if you want to check Dolive Creek. It’ll shallow up bad as you get to the west side of John’s Bend. It’s what I would consider easily runnable to about the middle of John’s Bend. I used to run my big bass boat all the way through to the Apalachee but I knew exactly where to run and I was trimmed up, hot foot on the floor, with nothing but the prop in the water.

PWYSE did you get the bonus tag for your zone? Chris Blakenship stated in an interview that due to an increase in alligator population that 192% of tradional permit numbers is the new quota number as BONUS TAGS ARE BEING GIVEN OUT TO ENCOURAGE THE TAKING OF SMALLER GATORS. I hope they did not just double the people. But with the wording it seems like it is a BONUS Opportunity.... ?????? Oh it very well could have been. I haven't heard that but he was an alternate.
