What is on the gun, red dot, holographic or something else, that has been actually told by authorities. All I’ve heard so far is that it was. DPMS Panther “not known as MOA for its groupings” 3-5 inch grouping was normal with that gun. Friends with some guys that sold a lot of them. Actually talked mentions buying one years ago because of its accuracy issues.

Someone testified it was an eotech. I don't know how accurate the testimony is though. My best guess would be irons and a red dot. I guess the argument could be made that it could be a magnified reddot. But I don't know anyone who would run irons like that.

As far as the accuracy of the dpms. It's possible he replaced the upper. But that's just speculation in the absence of facts.

If you think 130yds is "long range" for a sniper, youre not nearly as smart as you think you are. Ive got a savage i would feel pretty comfortable shooting a 1 inch target at 130yds with. Im certainly not a sniper and i bet he wasnt shooting a savage. What we know, or have heard anyhow, is they were told not to shoot the guy. We know a 130yd shot for a sniper is a chipshot. We know he hit the gun, not the guy. You do know snipers are killing people at 20x that distance, right? And common sense has nothing to do with what went on that day. None of it makes common sense. If i was the sniper and i saw Trump about to be murdered, i would stop it. Thats what he did. Whats your explanation? A sniper with the best weapon money can buy and best training on earth cant hit a basketball sized target a little over a football field away? Yeah, thats probably it.

Maybe they shot the bad guy, saw that contact was made, and then for insurance shot the weapon to disable it. Or maybe two different shooters and different angles shot at nearly the same time and then with bad guy reaction, gun tumbling, and whatever shooter inaccuracy, the gun was inadvertently hit.

Just so everyone is on the same page. What's being reported is. After they radioed that a guy was on the roof. Butler county swat came out of the command center. Crooks fired 8 shots at which time Butler swat officer sent one round downrange hitting the buffer tube/ stock which disabled the gun. It's the 9th shot heard at the end of crooks 8 shots.Several seconds later USSS CST fired a round striking crooks around the mouth exiting out his ear, 10th shot heard.

I can promise you that no one tried to shoot the bad guy's rifle to disable it. That is only in movies and on TV.

I watched an unedited video and nothing was blurred. Still hard to see but only had a quick glance, I’d say you’re correct. Doubt the dot had magnification. My pistol has a 2 mm dot and it covers a head sized target at 100 yards. I’d bet he was shooting center mass.

Might have, might not. Likely, no, but Its possible. But for you to promise such a thing would imply you have some way of knowing for sure, which you dont.. that is by definition bearing false witness. It goes on alot these days. Weve(poeple in general) decided its ok to say something is the truth when we really dont know for 100% sure. You being a cop would give you some insight i dont have. But to promise the guy didnt shoot the gun on purpose, you dont know that. God takes promises serious and the spread of bad info, as if its the truth, is one of the things that has our country in the mess were in.

Bad thing is, there could be a interview with the guy on the internet. He could be asked "did you shoot the gun on purpose and why?" I personally would find it hard to believe what he said was the truth. People lie all the time for alot of different reasons.
