I've been looking on and off for a few years but have gotten serious in my shopping for one until now. I'm looking at the utility side more than the sporting side and would prefer a diesel. Any info on the J.D. XUV 855M and the Kubota RTV X1140 would be appreciated. Pro's / Con's , etc.

JD faster vs Kubota MUCH smoother to drive

Kubota will swap from 2 seater to 4 seater with shorter bed.

JD lighter and more nimble especially in mud

Kubota will pull like a tractor

Probably easier to keep a steady speed in Kubota. Important if you spray with it.

No belt drive on Kubota. It’s a hydrostatic drive

Drive both before you buy. Try to ease up to something like you’re going to hook up a trailer etc. you’ll end up buying the Kubota

The Kubota IS sloooow, but it’s also a very easy to do work with model. I’m itching to buy a Can Am with the long bed…..just because more bed equals more utility, for my needs.

I have the Kubota. Slow as hell but built like a tank. For farm use it gets the job done

We have the XUV 835 Gator. 5 years old now, almost 500 hours.

Had to replace emergency brake last year, but otherwise, it has been trouble free.

I just bought a used 1140 and that thing is a tank. Slow as hell, but built like a tractor.

Kubota UTV’s are built like a tank and will last a very long time, especially with proper maintenance. The Kubotas are also slow and heavy and will get You stuck in a bog and I have even personally seen my FIL’s stuck in a big sand bed.

We have my buddy's Diesel Kubota on our lease. Workhorse!

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

After looking for a long time I pulled the trigger on the Kubota. I think this will be the best choice for what I need. They are going to deliver it on Saturday.

After riding the Kubota for a week I am very happy with it. It's more of a work machine than a play machine for sure. Top speed is 25 mph but it pulls like a horse and the dump bed will come in handy. The rear seats fold down and the bed folds out to extend the bed another 2 feet when your in 2 seater mode. Sips fuel and purrs like a kitten. The ride is super soft and it eats up bumps and potholes. So far, so good.

It's open cab and it's not quiet, but I wouldn't call it loud.
