If you wanted to find a used bow to shoot, possibly even hunt with, what would you look for as far as best bang for the $$$. Probably something at least three years old but less than 10. Looking for specific models I can search for that are reasonably quiet/smooth.

I've owned just about every mathews made since 1997 and I think the v3 31 is the second best they have done next to the lift 29.5. so I reccomend the v3 31 it was built in 2021

I've bought several off of eBay and were great deals. Some folks on there don't know what they got, and how much it's worth. I'm a Hoyt guy.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

If you're looking for a good value in a bow, you owe it to yourself to at least try out a Hoyt Torrex. I've been shooting mine for a year and love it (approx 4000 shots) The bow shop I got it from says it's far and away their best seller. There are better bows out there, but I don't know of any that could be a much better overall value.

Go shoot a few, most people are brand loyal. I prefer bowtech, but I play with my draw length on 2 of my bows for specific reasons. I shot a couple PSE's for the same reason.
I simply like that feature and prefer it over mod swaps. My Bowtech Realm SS (super smooth) is just that, the cams aren't as aggressive as say the SR6

on the used market, what i would suggest is buying the flagship model in whatever brand you look at … i’ve done this with Bear & have had phenomenal success with it … i still am shooting my 2012 Carnage & it’s a beast

Lot of really good options in the used market. I would take a look at the 2-3 year old Elites. The Kure, enkore, remedy, and envision can all be found at very reasonable prices. These bows have a ton of adjustment built in. Long range of draw length adjustment as well as let off adjustment and the ability to change between a limb stop and cable stop. They are smooth shooting bows.

X2, I shoot an Enkore and don't see myself changing anytime soon unless the thing happens to break in half.

I’ll be third in saying buy an elite. Smoothest bow I’ve ever shot.

Gonna be hard to beat a Mathews Switchback or Switchback XT.

I agree with 2dogs, a Switchback XT will be best bang for the buck.

Bowtech Destroyers are still hard to beat and you can get one for $250 that will outshoot a lot of new bows for speed (pound for pound). Despite a reputation for blowing limbs, I had great luck with both the Destroyer 350 and 340. I always used a heavy arrow, though, and kept in 9.5 GPI or higher.

You can find a Hoyt alpha max or a carbon spyder for cheap and those are good bows. Always make sure you replace the string right out of the gate. There is no telling how old the string is and if it has been kept in a cool environment

K bush, I have a 2011 Hoyt AlphaMax 32 that has killed more deer than I care to talk about. I put a new string on it not long ago before going with the Darton. They are FINE bows. I’m holding on to it as a backup. There are a lot of good used bows out there.

Go to a shop and shoot several. Everyone has different preferences in what they like. Your question is sorta like asking about buying a truck, where you'll get a thousands different answers and reasons from a thousand different people. The best thing you can do is find a shop and fling some arras.
