My buddy just bought a 2022 with 60k mikes on it. It’s a very nice truck and seams to have plenty of power and gets great fuel mileage.

I never thought I’d be looking at buying a Chevy but here I am. I haven’t heard of too many issues with the duramax other than some like eating alittle bit of oil.

I got the 6.6 duramax and I love it. The guy I know with the 3.0 loves it and it gets damn good fuel mileage. Don't let anybody tell you the maintenance is alot. I get fuel filters for 50 and they will last 20 to 25000 but I change at 15000. I can do it in a little over 5 minutes.

You’ll most definitely enjoy the benefits of a full size truck over the Tundra. If you have never owned a diesel truck, you’ll love the power to tow and pull whatever you hitch up to.

I have a 23 with the 3.0. From what I have read you want a 23 up with the with the LZ0 motor. They redesigned the engine for 23, and added more HP and torq. Some people have had issues with both but so far mine has not had any issues and I have 25000 miles on it. I am sure you can go and find people talking about issues with any truck now days so take it for what its worth. I will say I am very impressed with the power from the 3.0. It shocked me at how it can move when needed. I dont tow much but when I have I never noticed the trailer. The camera system is amazing. I get around 24 or so MPG combined. I am not a milage watcher, I just fill up and go as needed. That is with a 4 inch lift and 35's. Just as an FYI, there are no deleats for the truck at this time. One company makes a tune for the older version of the engine. If you have any specific questions just ask and I will be glad to answer what ever I can. This already shared. Big change in this 23' series and up. Watch some YouTube videos on them. Seems like the biggie is the belt on the oil pump is a pain to replace. But it doesn't/shouldn't need servicing until around 150k miles. I'm probably going this same route next year.

I saw the update on the motors, I don’t think the upgraded tow capacity from 9.5 to 13k is on the 3.0 or Atleast the models I’m looking at, but in all honesty, I’m never gonna tow more than a ~24ft bay boat one day. I was also kind of bummed to find out you can’t delete them anymore but I did see where there’s a company in Canada that you can send the ECU to that kind of does it but they only go up to ‘22 and it’s like 2k. I used to have one of those diesel Jetta’s that caused all that cancer. It got close to 50mpg

Unless they "Run VSE" came out with something else I believe it only is a tune for the engine, and not a delete for emissions and is only for the LM2. They do make a new turbo for the engine that is supposed to give it a good boost. They make an increased tow model for the 3.0 but it also strips off other packages and functions and they are very rare from what people were saying. I bought a LTZ with the Z71 package and it is a very nice truck. Probably the nicest truck I ever had. The ride great, and can haul all the stuff that we need. The auto stop function got on my nerves, but they do have a button to turn it off only thing is you have to do it every time you start the truck. I ended up buying a thing that mounts by the battery and is plug and play to automatically turn it off. Going back to the ride, it is nice and smooth, but I plan on going with a little bit stiffer spring. It seems a little floaty on the highway for me.

Just an FYI. My buddy told me that on his trip up to the camp yesterday, his truck was showing an average of 29mpg and he had his cruise set on 75mph. That’s pretty good if you ask me. Way better then my 6.0 at 13mpg.

I've had 3. A 21 Silverado, a 22 GMC Sierra AT4, and I currently have a 21 Sierra AT4. I didn't get rid of teh other two due to problmes with the drive train. I just wanted soething different and once I got the 22 refresh model, I didn't like the interior layout.
The one I have now has 66K miles and at 63K went to the shop to fix an oil leak and have a new DEF tank put on it. Both were fixed under warranty.
I like the the torque for pulling my boat and love the fuel mileage, although the best mileage I got was with the 21 Silverado. It was a Z71 4x4 and got 28 MPG out of it. The best I've gotten from either AT4 is 23 mpg.
I do have a Ranch Hand grille guard and a Diamonback bed cover so those add considerable weight.

How are the transmissions in these trucks? Typical GM trash or do they actually put something decent in them? I am about done with GM over crappy transmissions. I have had transmission issues with just about every vehicle I have owned from them.
