Any of y'all load the little 300BLK?

I've loaded it for years, but while putting together a few blasting rounds yesterday was appreciating how economical it is. Yesterday's load was bulk Speer 125TNT bullets (15¢ ea) over a whopping 18.5 grains of Hodgdon H110. A pound of powder will load 378 rounds! With today's prices I'm appreciating the round more than ever. For the ultimate in thriftiness, 300 brass is free! Ya just gotta make it out of once fired 223 range brass (I've got thousands and pick up more each range trip). Even at today's outrageous $55/lb for powder, loaded 300 BLK rounds for 40¢ apiece are doable.

Need to get out and blast some water moccasins soon. The 125TNT load should make for quite a splash.

I load some sub sonic loads for a buddy’s 300 blackout. Personally, I like the 223 over the 300 blackout.

I've played with the round since it first came out using many different bullet and powder combinations. I've settled on CFE Black for subs and Lil Gun for supers.

What kind of speed to you get with 110 grain bullets and Lil Gun?

I'm working on some 125gr SST supersonic loads for mine now. Got a few different combinations loaded up just got to go shoot'em and see what the target says. Subsonically speaking, I got much better accuracy from Lil gun over H110 with 190gr subx but it wouldn't cycle my AR. The H110 load functioned flawlessly. A little agrivating but I'll try again later.

The 125 SST is likely a great Blackout bullet. I get really nice accuracy out of H110 with 110 and 125 grain bullets but you have me thinking about trying Lil Gun. The 110 Barnes blacktips are crazy accurate out of my rifle over 19.5 grains of H110.

What velocity are y’all getting out of your super loads?

The 125TNT load is running an average of 2170. My 110 VMax load runs around 2400 (19.5 grains of H110). The 110 Barnes blacktips are at 2350. These are out of a 16" barrel.

Word. You gonna shoot any deer with it?

Hope to this year. Been chasing hogs for the last 10 only shooting the occasional deer. The 110GMX over 19.5 grains of H110 will blow right thru a hog, I can tell you that.

I’m interested in how your setup does on deer. I’ve got a 125 grain Nosler ballistic tip(NBTs) load for my 308 that I’d like to try out.

My deer load will likely be the 110 VMax or 110 blacktip Barnes. I have 500 of the VMax loaded in new brass...

125 BTs in 308 is a fine deer killing unit

I also have a 125 grain Accubond load. Both loads are going 3000 fps out of a 20” barrel.

Ok now you have my attention!!! I have a great load for the 130gr TTSX but am interested in trying a load with the accubonds also. I loaded some accubonds for my buddy’s creedmoor and they shot outstanding. Fixing to order a box of the 125s.

I love that bullet, that 110 Barnes on top of some H110 works well for deer producing the perfect barmes mushroom. Put the bullet in the boiler room and its lights out.

Thanks for the feedback. I love the Barnes 110 Blacktips but haven't shot any game with them yet. They sure are accurate (and expensive).

Thats what i load for my son to hunt with. Sevral deer in the freezer from using them.

Good to know. It seems like the general consensus is that the Barnes is the gold standard for 300 BLK. Let's face it, the bullet was designed for the round, right down to the ogive that touches the magazine ribs that were designed to touch the 223's case neck. Think I'll hunt some with them this year. They are also very accurate in my rifle.
