same here. When/if I get close to retirement. I'll move the money into something more stable.

I subscribe to this thinking. Instead of stock market (except for manditory work retirement) I bought land. I am way too conservative or leery for the "only lose it on paper" crowd. The fact that all these market numbers seem totally made up to me scares the crap out of me. I don't want to put my future in some market nerd's hands who is manipulating numbers for the in-crowd. I've been burned by not being in the in-crowd one too many times to watch money fly away. I wanted a tangible investment asset that I could own relatively inexpensively and recreate on. Win/win for me. The value increase has done well, I get some stress relief working on it and planting plots, we kill several deer off it a year. To me, it sure beats watching a line graph on a computer screen.

I guess I’m very lucky that I can east PB&J, Great Value Pecan Sandies, Fish, Squirrel, Dove Breast, beans, rice, and cornbread every meal and be HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY !

I have enough freeze dried coffee and salt stock piled for three centuries of future lil JohnnyLocos 🤣😂🤣😂🤣

Sometimes I wonder how many folk don’t even have that special bottle of whiskey set aside for when Jesus comes back.

Y’all go dig a hole and throw about 15 bags of water softener salt in it to create a salt deposit because meat taste like crap without it 🤣🤣🤣😂

Cant have a full blown stock market crash under a democrat president 3 month before the election. CB and Fed are both in the tank for the dems. They'll prop it up, inflation will take off again, if Trump wins, immediately upon him being sworn in, they will say that inflation is getting out of control and they will raise rates and kill the market at that time and blame it all on Trump.

Yep. The wife and I decided about three years ago to check up on the markets for a while and buy something we could walk around on. The pines on it may not be worth crap at the moment, but the dirt is worth something.

I been saying buy tangible for a year or 2, I'm expecting this to get worse than what people think this year

They have it figured out where they can skim your money and you’ll leave the rest in because you already lost so much. The real dummies went through this around 2008 and are doing it again. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣

They learned how to get away with this from watching the dummies playing video poker.

There are a majority invested that have no business being in it because they are ignorant of the process.

I’m working that same plan here. Never could wrap my simple mind around the stock market.
I’ve invested in dirt and various metals.
Luckily, I’m in pine country and all my property is suitable for wet weather logging.
I also know a fella on “the inside” of the timber business.
He always guarantees that I get top dollar for my Timber. 😉

You’ll need the same type insider for the metal business if the bottom falls out because they will give you what they want, not market value.
