If I had to live in Montgomery I’d probably carry an AR pistol with me everywhere I went too. I'm always armed, but I'm not too concerned about these idiots shooting me. If any of them could shoot worth a chit, they'd have killed off about half the black population of the city by now. They had a big shootout a few weeks or months ago at a big gathering. Over 1,000 shell casings recovered at the scene. Only 9 people were injured by gunfire and no fatalities if I remember correctly.

Do you think he might have a felonious criminal record? thought has nothing to do with it . is he breaking a law . i dont see it ??? i never heard of any one just out in public wearing a mask like that being questioned about wearing one . most of the hunters on here been guilty of donig that if its illegal . i dont see him waving it around or pointing it at any one . we passed a law to prevent LEO from stopping people and charging the with dis orderly conduct when they opened carried , that was legal to do , which was a bs charge . people were scared . lol.

So what does Aldeer say about a Terry Frisk on this guy? Is there reasonable suspicion that a crime is about to be committed, considering the area, the mask and the weapon?
Now the biggie, would your answer change if it was a White guy?
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Now the biggie, would your answer change if it was a White guy? Reasonable suspicion in that area starts with race. Firefighter buddy told me not to go west on the Blvd. Past the mall after dark. It wasn't because of the mexicans or the white meth heads.

Now the biggie, would your answer change if it was a White guy? I'm not a LEO, but walking around sense dictates that the mask is something to be worried about. He's not wearing it because he's cold. If it was me standing in that spot wearing what he's wearing and holding what he's holding, I would expect to be in lockup within the hour for questioning, if nothing else.
You gonna pull them pistols, or whistle Dixie?

You show me an Alabama hunter wearing a full face sheisty in August on a 95deg day, I’ll show you a certified IDOT.

Now the biggie, would your answer change if it was a White guy? Nope. There is no RAS . I wouldn't be comfortable around him but unless he's breaking the law or I had information that he was about to break the law then he shouldn't be harassed. What I think he's doing isn't grounds to detain him just because I'm uncomfortable.

Now the biggie, would your answer change if it was a White guy? If he was a white guy a reasonable officer's training and experience would be less likely to lead him to think he is a serious problem (than some punk that looks like a drug dealing hood rat). That said, either race would warrant a terry frisk. Standing on a busy street corner, masked up, and with a long gun in hand is inviting it. What would happen if a cop ignored it and this jack leg did what is normal for that area and killed a slew of folks?

All this discussion defending an obvious hood rat's rights by a bunch of guys that are routinely are disarmed in WMAs due to unconstitutional "rules" some bureaucrat possum cop decreed. Sling your long gun up and go on a preseason scouting trip in a WMA and see what bs ensues.
If I wore a ski mask in broad daylight and carried a long gun in a high crime area I'd expect to be questioned. For LE to do anything less is negligent. I don't like when liberals exercise their 1st ammendment either but I agree it's their right to do so. I'm more concerned with officers that are willing to violate rights based on how someone looks and with citizens willing to cosign their abuse of power.

That picture has made the rounds so much I suspect a news story and maybe a political statement or two will come out of it. The Gump is having a lot of "Crime in the Gump" legislative and other issues lately.

Problem is, that dude isn't exercising his 1st amendment rights and it is perfectly legal for police to check him out in this situation per established case law (Terry v Ohio) based on reasonable suspicion. For police to do anything other than investigate would be negligent on their part.

I wish there was still a law about wearing a mask in public but covid screwed that up. Do I think he up to no good? Very likely, but I'm more concerned with the abuse of our rights than I am with the possibility he might commit a crime.
