Looking for a drag harrow to cover fields to pull behind my 4 wheeler. Ive looked at the chain ones that you can purchase that are nice, does anyone have any experience with these?. Ive built some out of chainlink fence in the past, but they dont tend to hold up well. What yall use store bought or DIY?

Hard to beat an oak pallet. Drug a lot of fields with one.

Before we had equipment and plots that were a half acre or less, a couple pallets from the feed store. Flip them upside down, put a couple logs in for weight and when it fell apart, throw it in the woods and tie on another pallet. Worked great. Need enough rope to make a harness to pull from both corners.

I've used one of the link type from tractor supply for years. Works good.

We used old mattresses and box springs. They don't hold up well but give them one last purpose before they go to the dump.

I've got one like THIS. 3 function: teeth down facing forward, teeth down facing rearward and teeth up. Tilling, covering big seed, covering smaller seed and smoothing seedbed. If you have multiple units, you can hook them together to mix/match functions - front teeth down, rear teeth up for covering and smoothing in one pass.

experience is a freakin' awesome teacher....

I picked up one from Bass pro long time back (probably 12 years or so) and it been a good un. I use it around the house a lot, now it ain't for no super big plot, because it isn't very wide...

Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many!

I have some cotton conveyor chain left I got off a member here. I’d be willing to cut you off enough to make a drag but you’d have to come get it.

Chain link is the cheapest . I don't like it though to cover oats and wheat . Don't cover deep enough to suit me

I bought one from tractor supply that I like. Flip it one way and you have harrow tines. The other way you can just smooth drag

Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one with deep ruts, hills and mud.It may be bumpy but WHAT A RIDE!
