What are yall seeing on your trees? The sawtooths here at the office, which dump tons every september, seem bare. Could we be seeing a short acorn crop?

The harder I practice, the luckier I get.

Yeah I noticed my sawtooths didn’t have a single acorn on them. No white oaks were showing either. Them corn piles better be high this year

Sawtooths suffered from another late freeze event from central AL north. I haven’t hardly seen a tree with acorns.

Red oaks are loaded in places. I have only checked a couple of white oaks and they’re hit or miss, like always.

If your area has "tons" of acorns every year , that area is the exception . Acorns as a norm are cyclical and bout every 4 years there's either a near or complete failure.

Yep. There’s definitely not tons of acorns every year. Acorn success or failure is directly correlated with body mass and antler growth the following spring. It’s also a very consistent indicator of overall hunter success and deer sightings in fall. It’s definitely cyclical.

My sawtooths are few and far between. My young chestnut trees are loaded for the first time.

Not seeing as many in the yard as normally do.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

I checked 20-25 sawtooths today. May be a few acorns to none on them but very scattered. These trees are 12-15 years old. I’ve seen a tree skip a year but have not seen any thing like this.
2 red oaks in my yard are loaded and dropping due to the dry weather. Jackson Co.

Went looking today, checked a few white oaks and they were bare. The water oaks were also bare. Found a series of giant red oaks that had a few. Looking pretty slim around me in central Alabama.

Let me go ahead and interject this before we get too far along, yard Oaks are a poor predicter of acorn production in the woods.
