I was telling someone at work about a lg k9 that has been coming into our yard late afternoon, colored similar to a coyote but extremely larger, like in the 80+lb range large. My daughter saw it first and I scoffed at her description, the second time I was the same, I’ve seen it twice in one week at 75 yds, and it was 30ft from my front porch yesterday evening. I know that something has killed all of the rabbits in the past couple of weeks and I was told about wolf dog hybrids that are running loose in the central AL area, apparently 95.3 The Bear was talking about this. Anyone know/heard anything about this?

Back in the 80s I saw one on the Tallapoosa River in macon County near the dog track . I called Montgomery and was told some had been set loose north of where the Tallapoosa and Coosa rivers join . So at one time they were in bama . Red wolves

That yote doesn’t come close, I’m going to set up a trail camera tomorrow where I saw it twice. This thing is at least 4 ft long from nose to butt minus the tail, it’s as tall as a Doberman, does not have a snout or head like a coyote. I had plenty of coyotes around here trying to lure my pit, out of his pin area but they haven’t been seen or heard in weeks. Regardless of what it is, if I get a shot it’s dead.

Red wolf? I saw one in the early 80's in Mississippi. I thought about that as well, but they are not much bigger than a coyote.

There was a guy in Tuscaloosa county that raised them in the early 90's. I went and saw them personally. You definitely won't confuse them with a coyote. They are HUGE!

Best friend had one after we graduated. 125lb Timber Wolf/Husky cross They were raising them at Parchman for tracking dogs. They couldn’t breed all of the “wild “ out of them and sold them. Beautiful animal. Dire was his name, of course. There were a good many around the Delta as pets, for a while.
