Other thread got me wondering.
Anybody know of anywhere that you can get bulk (unbagged) pellet lime in central alabama. Preferably Shelby or chilton counties? st clair, talladega?

Most of the co-ops can/will improve on their bag price if you're buying over a ton. Most wont offer it up, unless you ask. I dont know of any that sell pelletized lime in bulk.

I asked at mid state in columbiana and all they do is bagged. 6.00 a bag, if you buy the pallet it comes down to 5.75. I sure miss the old days of it being around 4.00

I didn’t want pellet lime. I wanted pulverized lime and paid $60/ton including the spreading.

I just bought a 55 gallon drum of Advanced Cal from Agritec out of Texas. Delivered to my house, in the drum was a little over 800. Per their recommendations, I will need to spray 4 gallons of concentrate after diluted in water per acre of greenfield. According to my online research and their discussion, should hopefully hold my pH in the mid 6s-7 over the next 3 years as I am running around 5.8 up to 6.4 on my fields. Gonna be a heck of a lot easier to spread this versus pellet lime, and my local coop quoted 45 dollars a ton for ag lime spread with minimum purchase of 20 tons so almost the same cost.

Don't know if anyone has done this before but just some food for thought. It may not work that well who knows but should work quicker and will be a lot easier.

There's another product out there called plot start that claims 1 gal per acre will raise ph 1 point for 3 years. I'm thinking about trying it. It works instantly too

That’s what these guys are telling me. I’m skeptical about the 3 yr mark but it beats spreading pelletized lime to me and will work a lot quicker. I’ve had no luck getting my local coop to get me the regular ag lime and even less luck getting them to spread it for basically the same price.

I can get a buggy but I only have 1 plot that needs it. I only need 1500 lbs. I think I'm just gonna buy 2 gallons of that stuff and roll with it. It's only $50 gallon
